Job Description
The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for one Research Assistant position to study the impacts of climate change on tropical tree demography and forest dynamics, with a focus on the primary and secondary forests in Singapore. The appointment is for an initial period of one year with the possibility of contract renewal (1 – 3 years ). Successful candidates will be expected to:
• Assist the research through field work, procurement, and designing / managing “common garden” climate change experiments on seeds and seedlings
Qualifications
Qualifications / Discipline:
A B.Sc. from a reputable university in environmental science or ecology. Those with no experience are encouraged to apply.
Skills:
Candidate should have strong written and communication skills, experience with field work and quantitative analysis, demonstrated ability to work in a team. Experience with growing plants or working in a plant nursery environment would be highly favoured.
