The Testing and Certification Engineer for the Asia & Pacific Open Testing and Integration Centre (OTIC) in Singapore will be responsible for conducting testing with customers and testing tool providers, analyzing and evaluating testing results to certify O-RAN components.
Main Responsibilities:
- To work with the testbed System Architect, Technical Manager, and the other team members to configure and test a device-under-test (DUT) / system-under-test (SUT) of different customers.
- To understand the test specification and certification specified by standards bodies such as 3GPP, O-RAN, ETSI.
- To work with customers and testing tool vendors to configure and integrate DUT / SUT and the testing tools to achieve the testing / integration / certification objectives.
- To design, develop and deploy test cases to evaluate different O-RAN-based DUT / SUT.
- To participate in international organization discussion meetings (ORAN Alliance, TIP, MGMN), update the latest specifications defined by these standards bodies, and contribute to defining upcoming specifications/standards.
- To design, develop, and deploy test cases for manual and automation test scripts to evaluate different O-RAN-based DUT / SUT.
- To design detailed criteria and implement the procedures for each certification defined in standards.
- To analyze test results and assist customers in troubleshooting interoperability, security issues.
- To research 5G-related specifications and technologies for 3GPP and O-RAN.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, communication engineering, or related fields.
- Hands-on experiences in Linux systems, virtualization/containers, edge/cloud systems deployment and management (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Good programming skills, e.g.: Python, shell scripting, C / C++.
- Hands-on experience and working knowledge of developing and deploying automation test tools (e.g., Jenkin). Experience with CI/CD is a plus.
- Hands-on experience and working knowledge in deploying and operating wireless networks (e.g., LTE, 5G networks).
- Familiar with 3GPP, ETSI standards, and O-RAN specifications is a plus.
