Job Responsibilities:
1. Guide, Review, and Design offshore marine design fundamentals or system specifications.
2. Guide, Review, and Design offshore piping and valve material specifications.
3. Guide, Review, and Design offshore marine equipment capacity specifications and system requirement calculations.
4. Guide, Review, and Design offshore marine system piping dimensions, wall thickness, and pressure loss calculations.
5. Guide, Review, and Design offshore marine system UFD (Utility Flow Diagram) and PID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) drawings and related calculation sheets.
6. Guide, Review, and Design offshore marine system pipeline lists, valve lists, and special item lists.
7. Interface with Client Marine Engineering team to resolve the technical issues.
8. Supervise the marine engineering team's work to ensure technical compliance with all design requirements.
9. Manage the department, including personnel training and development.
10. Coordinate project design changes, documents, plans, schedules, or services with clients.
11. Ensure proper design document management and traceability.
12. Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice.
Job Requirements:
Experience:
1. Minimum 8 years in basic and detailed design in shipbuilding, marine & offshore, oil & gas, or offshore new energy industries.
2. Minimum 3 years in department management.
3. Proven experience in a wide range of shipbuilding and marine & offshore structures (e.g., self-elevating units, column stabilized units, surface type units, FPSO/FSO/FPU/MOPU hull, and topside design). Participation in at least 5 offshore projects is required.
Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in marine engineering or related engineering majors.
Skills:
1. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
2. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
3. Proficiency in Navisworks, CAD software, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
4. Proficiency in 3D modelling software (e.g., Aveva Marine, E3D, Intergraph Smart 3D).
5. Proficiency with the latest tools/software for PFDs/PIDs design (e.g., AVEVA Diagrams, Intergraph Smart PID).
Knowledge:
1. Familiarity with offshore design rules, standards, and requirements (DNV/ABS/BV/CCS/API/ASME/ISO/MARPOL).
2. Mastery of discipline design principles and processes.
3. Understanding of principles and knowledge of other disciplines.
Language:
1. Preferable if competent in speaking and writing Mandarin for communication with colleagues in the China branch.
Flexibility:
1. Willingness to be stationed at project sites or overseas if required by the project (e.g., SEA, China, Europe).
2. Willingness to travel domestically or internationally if required by work (e.g., SEA, China, Europe).
