The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting security testing and performing necessary research & development of new testing capabilities for O-RAN-based components and systems in a 5G system.
Main Responsibilities:
- To work with the testbed System Architect, Technical Manager, and the other team members to conduct security testing of device-under-test (DUT) / system-under-test (SUT) of different customers.
- To understand in-depth security test specifications and security certifications defined by standards bodies 3GPP and O-RAN.
- To conduct vulnerability assessments and perform penetration testing on O-RAN systems.
- To design, develop, and deploy security test cases and manual and automation test scripts to assess the security posture of different O-RAN-based DUT / SUT.
- To analyze test results and assist in finding their vulnerabilities, or verify their product passed security test requirements according to ORAN standards.
- To research security-related specifications and technologies for 3GPP and O-RAN.
- To participate in international organization discussion meetings (ORAN Alliance, TIP, MGMN), and update the latest security specifications defined by these standards.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information security, or related fields.
- Working knowledge of key aspects of information, system, and network security is essential.
- Experience in conducting penetration testing for Telco systems or cloud-based systems is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience in Linux systems, virtualization/containers, edge/cloud systems deployment and management (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Good programming skills, e.g. Python, shell scripting, C/C++.
- Hands-on experience and working knowledge of deploying and operating wireless networks (e.g., LTE, 5G networks) is a plus.
- Familiar with 3GPP, ETSI standards, and O-RAN specifications, especially their security-related specifications and testing requirements is a plus.
