Job Purpose

An opportunity to join the world’s largest privately owned insurance broker, in an environment which continually helps its people to grow and achieve their ultimate potential.

This role sits within the Singapore finance department which is responsible for reporting and handling cash receipts along with payments out to insurers and clients.

Handling of cash receipt and payments to ensure the number of outstanding receipts and payments are reduced and cleared. The individual will be expected to play a pivotal role in the re-shaping of finance as it continues to adapt to a growing business. The candidate must be able to display a strong attention to detail mindset, diligence, communication, and team management. Ensuring and maintaining a robust control framework is in place for cash management.


Job Description

  • Clear the backlog of outstanding receipts and payments to drive down the bad debt provision.
  • Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date , credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
  • Helping to monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting key personnel within the business.
  • Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
  • Review and oversight of the brokerage transfer.
  • Sending out of Client’s Statement of Account, Insurer Tax Invoice, PPW Notice.
  • Be the key driver in KPIs for receipts and payments.
  • Any other roles and responsibilities assigned.


Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of Finance experience in the insurance industry.
  • Finance experience in the marine insurance industry will be added advantage
  • eGlobal is desirable.
  • Proficient in Excel.


Competencies

Industry know-how

  • Preferrable exposure to Insurance industry, but strong Financial Services considered.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with E-Global Finance system is desirable.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (i.e. Peoplesoft).
  • Demonstrates regulatory awareness where appropriate.

Communication Skills & Other

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Highly dynamic & possess excellent communication skills; with can-do attitude to work diligently to achieve tasks; work with detail and patience.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to practice\perform ethically.
