Overview
The Director, Data Centre will be responsible for the end-to-end management of a new data centre project, encompassing everything from initial design and planning to full operational implementation. This role requires a visionary leader with extensive experience in data centre architecture, construction, and operation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale data centre projects, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the latest technologies and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting directly to the Group CIO, you will be the Head of Data Center
- Lead the design and implementation of new data centers from scratch.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of data center projects from planning to execution.
- Ensure data centers are designed for optimal performance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for data center projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align data center initiatives with business needs.
- Maintain high standards of data center operations, security, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data centre management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in designing, building, and managing large-scale data centres from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure components, including power, cooling, networking, and security systems.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or data centre management (CDCP, CDCS) is a plus.
