A Corp Lab in NTU is looking for a motivated Research Engineer to conduct cutting-edge research in the topic of “Green Cloud Computing”.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed energy and CFD models of HVAC systems using simulation software (e.g. EnergyPlus, OpenFoam, Ansys, 6-Sigma, eQUEST, IES VE, DesignBuilder).
- Conduct simulation and optimization tasks to evaluate the energy performance of HVAC systems, including heating and cooling loads, energy consumption, and peak demand.
- Analyze and interpret simulation results to identify areas for energy efficiency improvements and develop recommendations for optimization.
- Collaborate with team members to work out AI based solutions to optimize the energy efficiency and mitigate thermal risks.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients, contractors, and other team members on HVAC energy efficiency measures and sustainability best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest energy/CFD modeling and simulation technologies and industry trends.
- Prepare reports and presentations for clients and project stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC energy modeling and simulation.
- Proficiency in simulation software (e.g. OpenFoam, Ansys, 6-Sigma, EnergyPlus, eQUEST, IES VE, DesignBuilder).
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, including heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selection, duct design, and piping layouts.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency measures and sustainability best practices.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with local, state, and national codes and standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and ICC.
