As General Manager, you head the Management Team of the Hollandse Club and are responsible for the daily running of the Club. You will be carrying out the Main Committee’s (MC) policies and directivesand you are the Main Committee’s bridge to the staff. You will report to the MC on the operations and activities as well as on the application of the Hollandse Club’s policies.
The General Manager:
● Initiates and assists design and drives execution of MC-initiatives.
● Overseas the drive to attract new members and revenue creating events.
● Continually looks to enhance membership experience and increase revenue through managing business operations as well as building and maintaining relationships with members, guests, committees, and external parties.
● Drives the club's branding and public relations together with the Management Team and the MC member responsible for Marketing.
● Works together with the finance team and the Treasurer of the MC, to develop budgets for MC’s approval and project cash needs against requirements.
● Ensures cost control systems are in place and monitored.
● Is responsible to effectively manage all partners of the HC.
● Is highly visible to both members, staff, and other stakeholders, listens to their input, feedback and criticism. Ensures optimal member and guest experience by attending to all and resolve complaints whenever required.
● Manages and is responsible for the efficiency and productivity of the daily operations to ensure the business objectives are met.
● Leads, manages, and motivates staff on customer relationship management to cultivate a top-notch international service culture. The General Manager needs to have a respectful vision to guide all HC personnel toward optimal operating results, employee morale and member services.
● Has hire and discharge authority of Hollandse Club personnel, in coordination with the MC.
Requirements:
● Preferably candidates with (tertiary) qualifications in Hospitality Management / Business Management / Business Administration.
● At least 10+ year(s) of proven track record and management experience of operations in (international) clubs and /or hospitality environment.
● Experience in operating in a multi-cultural environment.
● Demonstrated strong leadership and people management skills.
● Advanced Project Management skills with clear examples of success.
● Superb interpersonal, stakeholder management and communication skills.● Proactive, hands-on character as well as seeing the bigger picture and the road that has to be taken.
● Able to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments.
● Must have the ability to adapt to change, be flexible and empathetic.
● Demonstrate initiative – ability to think, work, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
● Strong affinity with Sustainability and understanding of how this is applicable to the Hollandse Club.
● Must be willing to work in the evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
