VFlowTech (VFT) is reinventing energy storage with Vanadium redox flow technology, with a vision to develop the cheapest and most scalable Vanadium redox flow batteries in the world. VFT storage solution has an expected life span of 25 years and is proven to be one of the safest and most environmentally friendly battery technologies. VFT founders have deep experience in the renewable space, and Vanadium redox flow technology in particular. VFT is a spin-off of the CleanTech lab of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and benefits from unique IP arising from many years of intensive research at NTU. First in Singapore to develop and deliver environment-friendly smart redox flow batteries to customers globally.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluation and procurement of mechanical and electrical components i.e. pumps, plastics, metals, chemicals, etc.
- Strategically partner with organizational stakeholders to source and procure services and materials needed for battery energy storage system
- Negotiate price terms and conditions with contractors/vendors; ensure price competitiveness
- Manage the commercial/technical review and contract negotiation for all major equipment and construction contracts throughout the lifecycle of the process
- Work closely with the engineering, development, technology and accounts teams to analyze procurement options that are consistent with established budgets.
- Price forecasting and inventory upkeep
- Issue request for proposals (RFP’s), perform bid evaluations, negotiate prices and contracts to include price, schedule, scope, performance guarantees, specifications, and other legal and commercial terms favorable to VFlowTech
- Arrange, track, and expedite the timely delivery of services, materials, and equipment to meet site expectations, holds self and others accountable for meeting milestones.
- Issue, track/monitor and follow-up Purchase Orders to suppliers
- Establish a process for documenting sourcing activities and inventory of battery energy storage system equipment
- Establish procurement standard operating procedures
- Manage RMA
- Handle shipping matters (e.g. LC, etc.) and monitoring of purchases
- Assist with invoicing and payment matters
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of progressively responsible technical, engineering, manufacturing management, or heavy industry procurement experience; energy storage experience a plus.
- Excellent understanding of Supply Chain
- Willingness and ability to travel both locally and internationally for battery services, material, equipment, and contracts.
- Knowledge of contracts, price negotiation and vendor management.
- Ability to source innovatively and evaluate bids and proposals including review of procurement documents.
- Extensive knowledge with established, recognized procurement practices.
- Good knowledge in shipping and payment practices
- Prior relationships with vendors is a plus
- Ability to converse in Mandarin to liaise with our vendors in China preferred
- Passion for energy storage and drive to become technical expert in this revolutionary industry.
