Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Adviser to join our team in Singapore.
This role involves emergency response and attending on site at oil and chemical spills globally, delivering objective technical advice, expertise, assistance and information to international governments and other parties.
The Technical Adviser work is varied and challenging including world-wide travel, advising appropriate methods to responding to oil and chemical spills from ships, minimising impact on economic resources and the environment, assessing compensation claims for compensation, undertaking regular presentations, and running workshops as part of our preparedness and education work.
Job Requirement
- A higher degree in science, engineering, or a related discipline (an academic background in Chemistry is of advantage)
- Relevant practical experience in a scientific/technical role is important, and pollution control experience is a distinct advantage.
- Fluency in a second language to English is preferred due to stakeholder engagement in Asia Pacific region.
- Strong written and oral presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Availability to travel extensively, often at emergency short notice.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good physical fitness
- Computer literacy
