We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented merchandiser/buyer to perform market research, evaluations and analyze competitors to determine what products are featured in stores, catalogs and online marketplaces. This role also helps the company optimize their sales and profits by ensuring that retail stores and online stores are stocked with the right products in the right quantities.
Responsibilities
- Delivering a weekly/monthly purchase order report
- Analyze sales data to identify best-selling lines and to develop promotional strategies
- Ensure that stores, shelves or websites are stocked with the right types and quantities of products
- Display, arrange, price, and rotate products in store
- Maintain store shelves by removing dated or damaged products
- Develop and execute merchandise display strategies that enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Monitor store inventory based on sales and intake
- Optimize sales volume and profitability by identifying profitable lines and bestsellers
- Make recommendations for promotional strategies using sales and pricing data
- Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders
- Assisting the Logistics Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
- Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate
Requirements
- 3 years of experience working in retail or merchandising
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passionate self-starter
- An understanding of purchase order software platforms
- Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with a team
- Knowledge of sportswear products and industry is a plus
- May be required to travel to different store locations within Singapore
