Job Responsibilities
· Financial Reporting
o Act as the primary support person for monthly, quarterly and year-end financial activities
o Create regular reports to track financial performance and trends and to help prepare financial forecasts
o Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
o Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
o Report to the CEO and board of directors with timely and accurate financial information
o Assist in preparing and/or presenting reports to board members and stakeholders (including but not limited to investors and Singapore government entities)
· Budgeting
o Develop budgets and financial plans for the company together with the executive team
o Review financial results and budgets regularly to look for cost enhancement opportunities
· Process and Operations
o Establish accounting and finance operations systems, including payroll and invoicing
o Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
o Set appropriate financial controls
o Work with key stakeholders (internal and external) on project finance
· Cash Management
o Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
o Basic treasury activities to provide yield on company cash reserves (e.g. fixed deposits)
· Audit / Tax
o Use auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
o Drive the year-end audit processes
o Work with tax advisors to ensure tax compliance and optimize for tax position
· Team
o Build and manage necessary finance department staff and third-party services, including accountants and financial assistants
o Drive hiring within the finance function
Minimum Requirements
· 10 years of accounting experience in Big 4 public accounting or at a multi-national firm as regional financial controller / director
· CPA or CA preferred
· Experience with creating financial statements and consolidated accounts for companies in Singapore (IFRS/SFRS); familiarity with US GAAP is a plus
· Strong understanding of tax codes and laws
· Proficiency with accounting software (for example, Quickbooks and/or Xero)
· Strong communication and global collaboration skills
· Experience in the manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry is a plus
