Job description
In your new role you will:
- Develops new and/or enhances existing technical systems/processes (whole systems, parts, components).
- These can either be software and/or hardware as well as various products.
- Responsible for development planning and development strategy in close collaboration with other functions (e.g. marketing, operations).
- Apply research based on scientific methods, e.g. for quality improvement, process optimization, new products or business areas.
- Manages new product introduction and production support engineering for a specific product or group of products (in particular XENSIV™ MEMSmicrophone family of products)
New Product Introduction:
- Work alongside with Technical Marketing colleagues to successfully introduce new products into the production line (Focusing on BE test; Knowledge in Packaging would be added benefit)
- Work with the Project Manager to ensure key project milestones are met in accordance to the defined project schedule
- Work alongside the Engineering Team to address issues that arise. Lead discussion with the Product Development team to propose mitigation.
- Support successful transfer from design to in-house or outsourced production.
Production Support:
- Interfaces with design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems in terms of yield, stability and quality.
- Develops and sustains process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields.
- Adopt advanced data analysis techniques (e.g. data visualization, machine learning) in production support.
- Innovate ideas for next level of productivity through the adoption of automation in data analysis/visualization.
- Apply innovations across the entire product family (where possible)
Your profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- A Bachelor/Masters Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering.
- 9+ years relevant working experience in the role/responsibility described above.
- Experience in managing acoustic products (e.g. MEMS Microphone) is an added advantage.
- A strong understanding of how an acoustic product (e.g. MEMSMicrophone) is tested will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge in statistical methods used in production support is required. Able to demonstrate the ability in data visualisation, analysis and automation.
- The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in C++ and Python programming language.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate in English/Chinese to deal with business stakeholders in China.
- He/She must be self-motivated, innovative and persistent to own/manage the product family throughout its life cycle.
