Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on all business activities of our offices in the Asia-Pacific region, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Draft and prepare legal documentation, internal reports and contract templates
- Advice and support on contentious matters in the region
- Ensure that compliance/data privacy issues/licensing issues are being appropriately handled and escalated when necessary
- Keeping updated of industry developments and legal trends
- Assist on ad-hoc special projects
- Supervise a small team
- Any other duties as may be assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 or 2 years of relevant legal experience in a regional law firm or in-house legal team.
- Past experience with legal and compliance work in telecommunications industry will be an advantage
- Experienced with master services agreements, procurement contracts, as well as other contracts frequently used in the info-communications and technology industry
- Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin essential to communicate with Mandarin-speaking associates and to draft and review Mandarin documentation and contracts.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
- Balanced interpersonal style, good communication skills, a team player, and able to work effectively with all levels
- Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred (To liaise with Mandarin speaking stakeholders).
