Job Description:
• Ensure the requirements of external legislation and regulations (e.g.
MAS, Lloyd’s legislation, Money Laundering/Proceeds of Crime, Data
Protection, Health & Safety), company best practice and other
general business compliance procedures are adhered to at all times
• Promote Miller brand and values to enhance Miller’s reputation in
the market
• Enhance and develop relationships with existing markets, including
travel, where appropriate, to overseas insurers
• Assist with presentations to existing and potential clients (both
domestic and overseas) to acquire new and profitable business
• Assess client needs to ensure that these are fully understood by all
parties
• Assist to develop marketing strategies to meet needs of clients
• Develop strategic business partnerships with clients, particulaly
Japanese interest abroad and JV clients
• Assist develop existing business servicing and renewals
• Negotiate professionally with underwriters to place insurance and
reinsurance risks at the best terms on behalf of clients
• Assist advising clients of requirements for technical underwriting
information and assisting them in production of presentations
• Review of submission from producers/clients and production of
Market Reform placing slips and endorsements as required
• Gain understanding of Miller internal systems and technical
procedures
• Ensure accurate and timely production of Evidence of Cover
documentation and premium invoices as necessary
• Review, monitor and resolve technical questions and subjectivities
from underwriters and advise clients as required
• Keep track of impending renewals, request renewal information in
good time to enable terms to be obtained and order placed
• Perform assigned responsibilities as delegated by more senior
members of the team
Requirements:
• Relevant insurance qualifications
• Work in insurance environment
• Japanese speaking (fluent) and able to maintain good working
relationship with Japanese clients
• 5 years minimum in insurance industry
