Life Science Incubator is a fully-fitted BSL Level 2 co-working laboratory located in the heart of Singapore's scientific hub. We provide a state-of-the-art facility for Bioscience, MedTech, BioTech, HealthTech, and FoodTech companies to develop and grow. Our goal is to relieve operational and investment burdens by facilitating shared resources, equipment, and infrastructure, enabling our members to focus on their own work and create sparks of brilliance.

About You

You are Singapore-based and well connected to the thriving start-up community here, either as a service provider, ex founder or through university or other channels. You have previously worked in lab facility operations roles, have sales experience, and are an excellent networker.

Role Description

The Lab Community Manager role is varied and exciting. Whilst you will be responsible for day-to-day lab operations, you will also be actively engaged in sales and marketing activities, and ensuring our members love where they work. This is a site based role.

Sales, Marketing and Customer Engagement:

· Lead the process of finding and recruiting new member companies, ensuring that the incubator becomes a vibrant ecosystem and community of some of the most exciting Bio, Med and digital Healthtech startups.

· Forge strong links and partnerships with Universities, Research Institutions, Corporates other professional service providers to establish the Incubator as the leading location in to nurture and grow businesses.

· Actively seek and develop relationships with potential lab Partners and maintain a pipeline of potential income sources outside of the core membership offering.

· Offer viewings and tours to potential members or partners, and other such parties to support sales and marketing efforts.

· Marketing events support

· Manage vendor sales in line with any Partnership Agreements

· Provide support to LSI Marketing team on preparation of quarterly newsletters to Members and Partners, and other such communications including social media postings and industry events attendance.

Operations

· Manage Lab Facility to ensure smooth day-to-day operation.

· Responsible for overseeing the safety and security of laboratory facilities, including maintaining current knowledge of all relevant protocols, regulations, standards, and safety procedures.

· Maintain and update as required standard operating procedures and laboratory instruction manuals

· Monitor, research, and distribute information regarding implementing changes in regulatory guidelines as well as trends and developments in techniques and technology relevant to the field.

· Ensure the chemical register is up-to-date and MSDS is readily available for all chemicals and reagents stored in the laboratory.

· Work with LSI finance team on all matters relating to day-to-day accounting requirements.

· Ensure space utilisation, environment control and waste management follow applicable safety, health, and environment policies.

· Manage Laboratory Technicians to ensure their roles and responsibilities (see appendix A) are carried out effectively.

· Oversee personnel functions relating to Lab Technicians including performance review, expenses sign off etc

· Responsible for ensuring all new members are appropriately onboarded.

· Oversee LSI inventory management such as selecting, purchasing, storing, and allocating of laboratory equipment, reagent and supplies.

· Asset management of Laboratory equipment

· Equipment maintenance and monitoring ensuring servicing is in line with manufacturers' requirements.

· Undertake troubleshooting, process improvement, and quality improvement of lab operations.

· Carry out Lab Safety Inspections and Audits

· Lab License applications and renewals

· Maintain Bizsafe certification.

· Place orders on behalf of members and manage the associated accounting.

· Responsibility for ensuring billings is accurate and issued in a timely manner.

· Collection and authorization of invoices relating to lab operations.

· Coordinates continuing education training and in-services for staff and members.

· Follow a “continuous improvement” approach to lab operations.

· Opex/Capex planning support for laboratory in conjunction with LSI team

· Vendor Management

· Laboratory Security management and oversight

· IT management – security, apps management, server management

· Other regulatory affairs aside from NEA/SCDF
