Purpose of the Job
This position sits within the Regional Business Development Department ("RBDD”) based in Singapore in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking, Asia Pacific. We are looking for highly motivated personnel with strong leadership to lead the Business Intelligence & Analytics team -CoE and deliver the overall GCIB APAC Analytics Operating Model and Strategy.
This is a key role within GCBDA RBDD. Based on where the best suited candidate is identified, the Company is happy to hire for this role in Singapore, Hong Kong, Melbourne or Sydney.
Job Description
- Develop overall CoE strategy to support use case roadmap and to enable CoE to be at the forefront of banking innovation
- Develop talent strategy to enhance internal capabilities and retain best talent
- Plan for strategic partnership with similar centers globally in order to expand bank’s reach and reputation
- Lead a team of data & analytics professionals to drive the development and commercialization of data-driven analytics solutions across GCIB APAC via the newly setup Analytics Centre of Excellence.
- You will spearhead the development of a robust data warehouse and reporting ecosystem.
- You will partner with the leadership teams to drive strategic data initiatives aligned with business objectives and be the trusted advisor to business.
- Translate business needs into data-driven solutions and challenging traditional processes.
- Manage end-to-end data & analytics initiatives from ideation, design & development, deployment & commercialization in an agile working model.
- Drive commercialization of analytics solutions by defining and tracking value-add in tangible & quantifiable measure.
- Ensure timely and quality analytics deliverables to satisfy business needs effectively under the dynamic business environment.
- Collaborate & influence a wide range of partners / stakeholders from technology, business owners as well as senior management.
- Drive team development, cultivate innovative environment and uplift analytics capability through effective application of modern big data, machine learning methodology and visualization tooling.
- You will champion data quality and governance, AI and automation ensuring compliance and maximizing value realization.
- Support division and department to drive improvement in the process and operational efficiency.
- Promote MUFG and team culture, and foster team collaboration
Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or Accounting or Finance, or equivalent;
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Banking or consultancy with background in Data and reporting;
- Proven track record of leading, motivating, and empowering diverse teams;
- Experience with building and maintaining database for all financial and non- financial information.
- Experience with data management and reconciling data across several sources;
- Keen eye for detail and Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Project, PowerPoint, Excel), Qlikview, Tableau, Python, Alteryx and SQL;
- Work closely with business analysts to create data components;
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities, especially complex, ambiguous problems requiring integrated application;
- Ability to work under strict timelines and strong communication skills;

- Willingness to problem-solve and hustle to find solutions (even if unconventional), positivity and possess a “can-do” attitude;
