Validation and Quality Assurance (VQA Engineer)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical assessments for new suppliers and periodic assessments for key existing suppliers. Jointly develop supplier technical roadmap with supplier chain management.
- Communicate with suppliers regularly to develop quality improvement plans and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement and compliance to AEM supplier guideline, requirements and applicable standards.
- Review engineering and manufacturing specifications to validate material defects for return to supplier and ensure timely replacement by supplier.
- Apply 8D and other applicable quality tools with suppliers to ensure implementation of permanent corrective actions and no repeats.
- Contact suppliers and liaise between engineering/manufacturing to reach common acceptance of path forward for material issues that are not pure resultant of supplier fault.
- Conduct supplier quality control audits on a regular basis to ensure suppliers and their supplies remain in compliance with their internal production & quality control process and management systems and standards as well as AEM supplier guideline, requirements and applicable standards.
- Maintain a supplier database and their performance evaluation/scoring to facilitate supply chain management.
- Update internal procedures and work instructions for changes and conduct procedural trainings as part of internal continuous process improvement.
- Provide guidance to Incoming quality inspectors on inspection process and methods.
Requirement:
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics/Electrical.
- At least 2 years in the area of Supplier Quality
- Familiar with mechanical and materials used in equipment assembly
- Knowledge of Problem Solving skills and familiar with Quality tools such as 8D, Pareto
- Analysis, 5 Whys, FMEA, DOE etc.
- Good communication skills
- Independent, takes initiative and able to work with minimum supervision
- Able to work with diverse cultures
