Job Summary:
The Head of IT is responsible for overseeing the information technology operations of the organization. This role involves managing IT infrastructure, ensuring the security of digital assets, leading a team of IT professionals, and implementing technology solutions that align with the company’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive technological innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with the organization's goals.
- Provide leadership and direction to the IT department, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with technological advancements and industry trends to ensure the organization remains competitive.
- IT Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of IT services.
- Manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software systems across multiple brands.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems and services.
- Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for team members.
- Security and Compliance:
- Develop and implement IT security policies and procedures to protect the organization’s data and systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches.
- Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and address their technology needs.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT services and products.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Monitor and report on IT expenditures and financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Bachelor degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and enterprise software systems as well as retail system such as POS.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage performance, and drive change.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience in managing large-scale IT projects.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
