RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is for Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IIE).
  • Programme Development
    • Design/ curate curriculum for innovation & entrepreneurship education programmes.
    • Drive the execution of Global Innovation Immersion (GII) Programme and Overseas Work Study Elective (OWSE) -- develop and manage programme timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Ensure effective operations in compliance with university policies.
    • Build unique selling points (USPs) and develop market penetration strategies for new GII markets in the region to ensure that SMU's innovation and entrepreneurship programmes remain differentiated from other similar programmes available.
    • Work with the marketing team to develop campaigns to raise the profile of the programme as well as student interest for GII programmes.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of programmes and its impact on the startup ecosystem.
  • Student Club Management
    • Provide institutional support and cultivate the entrepreneurial mindset among student leaders and clubs through experiential activities & events.
    • Oversee, mentor and guide student leaders in the areas of club governance, workplans and finance to establish credible student-led clubs in SMU.
    • Maintain statistical and financial related records/transactions of the student club activities.
    • Develop and conduct regular reviews and assessments of student programmes / events / activities to meet education and I&E interests.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Building
    • Identify and partner with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to student leaders, faculty, investors, sponsors, universities and corporate partners.
    • Spearhead collaborative initiatives with the innovation & entrepreneurship ecosystem partners and identify strategic opportunities for IIE and SMU.
    • Keep up to date on developments across the region, including innovation & entrepreneurship related policy developments and to highlight the impact and opportunities.
    • Report and communicate strategy and plans to management, including regularly presenting proposals and performance update.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in areas such as education, business, and/ or related fields preferred.
  • 1 to 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience in designing and delivering quality experiential learning educational programmes.
  • Effective communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and team-oriented with a strong desire to be successful.
  • Comfortable with minimal amount of direction, thrive in high pressure and high expectation situations.
  • A keen sense of ownership and accountability and act with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.
  • Humble, authentic, value hard work, creative problem solver and outcome driven.
  • Up to date with industry trends in the innovation and entrepreneurship eco-system.
  • Relevant experience as an educator or mentor to the youth is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge and network in the local & SE Asia innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem will be viewed favorably.
