Job Title: SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER
Immediate Supervisor: DIRECTOR
Reporting Manager: DIRECTOR
I. Job Purpose:
The Sustainability Manager primary focus is on developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s sustainability initiatives. He is required to drive the organisation’s efforts towards environment, social and economic sustainability. He leads the organisation’s efforts in achieving its sustainability development goals and perform the sustainability reporting for the organisation.
II. Key Accountabilities:
a. Develop Company’s Sustainability Roadmap/Strategy with various stakeholders.
· Creating and implementing comprehensive sustainability plans aligns with organisation’s goals and objectives.
· Establishing relationships with sustainability project stakeholders.
· Understanding their requirements and challenges.
· Addressing concerns.
· Building rapport and trust by aligning objectives.
b. Using sustainability as part of company’s marketing/branding/ communications strategies
· Developing company’s marketing/branding/communications strategy around sustainability.
· Determine impact of sustainability initiatives.
· Work with marketing team to showcase initiatives.
· Develop and execute communication plans to stakeholders.
· Showcase company’s sustainability initiatives, to position it as a low carbon and/or sustainability driven business.
c. Ensure company’s compliance with any ESG related regulatory compliance.
· Support stakeholders in the development and implementation of sustainability project.
· Understand project specific details (e.g project outcomes, implementation strategies, etc).
· Identify key decision makers and influencers to move project.
· Identify potential challenges in project implementation process.
· Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to promote sustainability initiatives.
· Ensuring the organisation complies with environmental regulations and standards, and preparing sustainability reports to communicate progress and achievements to stakeholders.
· Identifying and mitigating risks associated with environmental and social impacts.
d. Assist and support internal stakeholders in the development and implementation of sustainability projects.
· Support stakeholders in the development and implementation of sustainability project.
· Understand project specific details (e.g project outcomes, implementation strategies, etc).
· Identify key decision makers and influencers to move project
· Identify potential challenges in project implementation process.
· Promoting sustainable innovation and seeking continuous improvement in sustainability practices and technologies.
e. Develop and oversee implementation of internal stakeholder engagement strategy and sustainability awareness programme to help raise awareness on sustainability best practices and ready employees to support company’s sustainability transformation.
· Develop project specific stakeholder engagement strategy.
· Identifying stakeholders skills gap/challenges.
· Design and implement relevant interventions to address skills gap/challenges faces (e.g Skills training/mind set change workshops, etc).
· Conduct follow up with stakeholder where relevant.
· Raising awareness and educating employees and other stakeholders about sustainability practices and their benefits.
III. Job Context:
· Internal relationships: Processing, Warehouse, Logistics and Finance.
· External relationships: Customers and Vendors.
IV. Qualifications and Skills:
§ Diploma or Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience plus a relevant professional qualification.
§ Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
§ Good computer literacy.
§ High level of organization, attention to detail and time management skills.
V. Experience:
At least 5 years of working experience in related field.
