Job Summary:
The Service Manager is responsible for leading the Service Department's operations, including service calls, staffing, and sales, while also mentoring staff, coordinating with the General Manager to develop business strategies, and ensuring efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction. They play a vital role in maintaining quality standards, resolving disputes, and contributing to the overall growth and profitability of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Service Department, focusing on business growth and profitability, including service calls, resource scheduling, staffing, sales revenue generation, and equipment controls.
  • Lead and develop Service Department staff, ensuring effective management of the service customer base and debt collection.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop Preventative Maintenance business, with a targeted approach towards business growth.
  • Provide accurate technical advice to potential customers regarding servicing of the company’s products and promptly prepare quotations for product supply, repair, or installation.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective coordination between service crews / technicians and customers, maintaining quality standards and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Work closely with company Directors and Senior Managers to achieve common objectives and explore growth opportunities.
  • Assist in production paperwork detailing for the correct manufacture of Door products.
  • Efficiently negotiate and resolve disputes with customers, suppliers, or other parties, and manage the timely processing of invoices related to serviced products.
  • Advise Directors on matters involving company liability or interest, ensuring compliance with company policies at all times.

Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years of related experience, with technical / mechanical background.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of company's products to effectively meet customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer usage, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills for building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong time-management and well-developed organizational skills to coordinate deadlines, paperwork, and reporting effectively.
  • Efficient problem-solving abilities and assertiveness coupled with a positive attitude towards challenges.
