Our club features several sports sections, including tennis, golf, swimming, squash, darts, fitness, bowling, and chess, along with a variety of amenities designed to provide an enjoyable and enriching experience for our members.
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sports and Recreation Manager to oversee the operations of our sports sections and recreational facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service, maintaining our facilities, and creating a vibrant and engaging environment for our members. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for sports and recreation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design, implement, and manage a diverse range of sports and recreational programs and events to cater to the interests and needs of members of all ages and skill levels.
- Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all sports and recreational facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of fitness instructors, coaches, and support staff. Foster a positive and motivated work environment.
- Member Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with members, addressing their feedback and suggestions. Conduct regular surveys and meetings to gauge member satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the sports and recreation department budget. Monitor expenses and revenue, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote sports and recreational activities through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and club events.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities and facilities comply with local health and safety regulations. Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute special events, tournaments, and competitions. Coordinate with external vendors and sponsors as needed.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to General Manager and Subcommittee on program performance, member participation, and financial status. Use data and analytics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sports and recreation management, preferably within a country club or similar environment.
- Proven track record of developing and managing successful sports and recreational programs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to sports and recreation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with recreation management software.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
