Job Description
This position involves working on a project related to climbing robots and their application in port operations. The objective of this role includes designing a basket for the climbing robot and developing the robot’s limbs, considering their functions. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with the research team at the National University of Singapore, led by members from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and specialists from a high-technology company. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with an outstanding track record in robotics, mechanical design, or related disciplines. The main research tasks for the project include, but are not limited to:
- Designing and developing the payload of an articulated vertical climbing robot.
- Designing the climbing robot’s limbs and conducting tests in real-world outdoor environments
Qualifications
- Excellent modelling skills
- Experience with mechanical design
- Experience with manufacturing
- Literature review/summarizing skills
- Good writing/spoken communication skills
