Procurement Engineer
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research & understand market leaders of various products/commodities including new products, product trend, specification and cost
- Monitoring market demand/supply, trend and interprete its impact on company sourcing strategies
- Collaborate with designer and engineer by providing sourcing and technical assistance during new product development
- To carry out pricing analysis and regular cost review with suppliers for key commodities
- Develop strong supplier relationship and proactively work with the selected suppliers to achieve a higher level of engagement
- Identify potential manufacturer/product and provide recommendation to engineer via alternate sourcing activity to ensure supply resiliency and continuity.
- Ensure system data integrity on the Purchasing Info Record and Source List maintenance
- Evaluate and score suppliers based on AEM Supplier Scorecard Criteria
Prerequisites (Qualifications and Experience)
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Good knowledge and understanding of standard component and application
- 3 years procurement/sourcing/commodities experience preferred
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- A good team player, a person with integrity, mature and self-motivated
