Job Description
In this leadership role, you will play a pivotal role in driving the organisation's strategic goals and establishing the department as the go-to innovation partner for local enterprises. You will be responsible for strategizing, formulating, and leading various initiatives to achieve these objectives.
Strategic Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with the senior management to develop, deploy, and execute strategic initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of strategies for stakeholder engagement across different industry sectors, influencing and engaging key decision-makers from both public and private sectors.
- Identify and implement opportunities to position the organisation as a trusted, neutral ecosystem player and thought leader in technology scouting and open innovation.
Operational Excellence:
- Manage resource deployment to ensure efficient and effective delivery of innovation services.
- Develop the department workplan and execute it within budget and timeframe.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to drive cross-departmental initiatives aimed at optimizing resources and processes.
The Successful Applicant
- Possess at least 15 years of relevant experience in one or more areas of product creation, bringing ideas to market, managing new product introduction, or system architecting.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of market drivers in the innovation ecosystem, the importance of regulations and standards in new product/service development, and the challenges of bringing innovation to market.
- Past experience working with SMEs or within an SME environment is essential.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a leadership role within the innovation and technology sector
- Postgraduate qualifications in Technology Management, Intellectual Property Management or Business Administration would be advantageous.
- Bring knowledge and hands-on experience in new product creation, new product introduction, research and development, or technology commercialization
