The role involves obtaining quotes, leading price negotiations, conducting supplier audits, and maintaining supplier performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Sourcing and Identification:Source and identify suppliers for direct and indirect materials/services to expand the supplier base and support new project/production needs.
Obtain quotes from newly sourced suppliers to provide cost evaluations and identify cost reduction opportunities. - Price Negotiations:Lead periodic price negotiations with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Supplier Qualification and Management:Participate in supplier qualification audits and parts qualification processes to ensure suppliers meet company standards.
Qualify selected suppliers and add them to the approved vendor list.
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews to manage quality and assess supplier capabilities. - Operational Procedures:Maintain standard operating procedures for the procurement department to ensure consistent workflow processes.
- Supply Agreements and Collaboration:Develop and negotiate favorable supply agreements with suppliers.
Collaborate with other departments and suppliers to develop a supply chain model that ensures supply assurance with minimal inventory holdings.
Work with departments such as Engineering and Warehouse to verify the quality standards of supplied items and establish quality plans. - Quotations and Support:Provide periodic quotation templates to the sales department for standard products.
Provide quotations to the sales department based on the scope of supplies required by customers.
Job Requirements:
- Fresh graduate with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Diploma holders should have at least 2 years of exposure to components sourcing and fabrication parts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
