We are seeking an individual with HSE experience for the position of Health Safety Environmental Coordinator at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations. The candidate will be responsible for training workers on safety matters, identifying hazards at the workplace, inspecting equipment, enforcing safety policies, safeguarding inventory, and coordinating first aid training programs.

- Report all incidents, injuries and near misses.
- Read all internal Health, Safety and Environmental correspondence or alerts and take action where appropriate.
- Support and ensure compliance with the Fortis HSE Vision and Core Values.
- Communicate and enforce the HSE policy and applicable HSE standards, procedures and safe work instructions.
- Provide technical expertise, skills and knowledge to ensure that the construction team are adequately supported to achieve best in class HSE performance and compliance with legislative requirements.
- Support Fortis’ Executive Management in the refinement of a robust HSE culture, and development, implementation and monitoring of the Fortis HSE management system
- Supervise works in accordance with the standards outlined in the Fortis HSE Management System and the Project HSE Plans.
- Be visible in leading environment, health and safety with contractors’ supervisors and workers.
- Assist in the implementation of the Risk Assessment and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) process.
- Ensure all workers receive a project specific induction prior to starting work on site.
- Ensure that all workers have been effectively inducted to their RA / SWP prior to commencing the work.
- Conduct daily HSE inspections of the site and take appropriate actions to rectify non-compliances identified in a timely manner.
- Undertake daily inspections of works requiring a Permit to Work and ensure permits are valid and requirements are being met.
- Review all high risk tasks in the field on a daily basis for compliance with the SWP. Where non compliances are identified, the works are to be stopped and corrective actions implemented.
- Ensure all project staff and contractors have the relevant training and competence for their task or role.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the HSE team.
- Ensure all plant and machinery are operated by trained and competent personnel only.
- Ensure all plant and equipment are inspected before use and on a monthly basis thereafter, and appropriately tagged.
- Ensure workers receive a daily pre-start HSE briefing prior to starting work every day / shift.
- Be actively involved in the daily pre-start HSE briefing process and ensure that appropriate information is being discussed and passed on to workers.
- Ensure all hazard observations, incidents, injuries and near misses are reported in BIM 360.
- Identify interface issues in the field and ensure that a plan is developed to ensure that works continue in a safe and coordinated manner.
Requirements:
- Possess required certificate for Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator
- Min 5 years relevant experience preferable in constructions
- Possess required certificate for Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator
- Working knowledge of progressive HSE principles including human factors, industrial psychology as applied to HSE, behavioral safety management principles, etc.
- Computer literate. Significant experience with Excel, Word, and other computer based tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English
