Our client, a prominent player in Singapore's fine food industry, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Account Manager to boost sales turnover and grow the customer portfolio. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the local market, a strong sales background, and experience in managing relationships with distributors, retailers, and key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Sales Growth and Development:
- Increase sales turnover by expanding SKU penetration within the customer portfolio.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective customers, offering support, solutions, and identifying new opportunities.
- Maintain high service standards as set by the organization.
- Schedule and conduct regular sales visits with new and existing customers.
- Analyze customer purchasing trends to identify and act on growth opportunities.
- Plan and execute supplier visit schedules, meeting forecasting deadlines.
- Keep professional and technical knowledge current through training, workshops, and networking.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales targets related to customer and stock management.
2. Customer Satisfaction:
- Ensure exceptional service and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Proactively monitor product quality and availability to prevent complaints.
- Address and resolve customer complaints, involving management or suppliers as needed.
- Collaborate with the sales manager and team to meet and exceed customer satisfaction targets.
3. Product Knowledge and Brand Awareness:
- Leverage extensive category knowledge to optimize assortment, stock levels, and sales strategies.
- Support the commercial team in growing their specific categories.
- Work closely with the sales team and suppliers to develop effective sales strategies.
- Stay informed on supply schedules and stock positions to anticipate and mitigate issues.
- Identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Focus on retaining and growing key accounts by ensuring comprehensive engagement at all levels of the organization.
- Evaluate customer positions within the industry and analyze sales strategies.
- Perform forecasting and stock management to prevent wastage and shortages.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market activities, and competitor actions.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
4. Team Collaboration and Networking:
- Promote collaboration and cooperation among team members.
- Establish and maintain a network with chefs and purchasers.
- Share information and insights within the team.
- Take initiative and work actively to resolve issues.
5. Market Intelligence:
- Maintain advanced knowledge of market conditions, trends, and opportunities.
- Proactively collect feedback from the field, including customer insights and competitor activities.
- Coordinate with management and suppliers to ensure information is effectively communicated.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management, preferably in the fine food industry or related sectors.
- Strong network and relationships within the Singaporean fine food market.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales performance data.
- Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
