- Perform third party inspection and assist with inspection coordination
Specific responsibilities:
- Review job file prior to inspection to ensure required work scope is understood.
- Prepare equipment and documentation necessary for the inspection.
- Responsible for following detailed instruction provided.
- Check draft field report and organize report before handing over to Coordinator.
- Generate and issue final reports.
- Update on daily activities including circumstances / problems encountered during inspection
- Maintenance of equipment and other apparatus used.
- Liaise with client on technical issues when necessary.
- Maintain draft report format / template.
- Maintain equipment used.
- Provide guidance to trainee or junior inspectors when on the job.
- Supervise inspection team when required.
- Assist in daily operations & coordination when required
- Any other tasks as assigned by superior.
- Operate and applies judgement to the highest standard of ethics in accordance with SGS standard of ethics and integrity
- Inspection includes fabrication of heavy structures, hull, piping, valves, drilling equipment, machineries, cables, E&I systems etc.
- Inspection location include shipyards, workshops, onshore and offshore installations or any other locations assigned.
Requirements:
- Tertiary education in engineering or related field
- Related technical qualification and work experience
- 5-10 years of experience in engineering
- Additional qualifications such as CSWIP 3.1, 3.2 or equivalent Certified Welding Inspector (“CWI”) from American Welding Society (“AWS”), API 510 (Certified Pressure Vessel Inspector), API 570 (Piping Inspector), PCN or ASNT Level II in PT, MT, UT & RI would have an added advantage
- Technical knowledge and experience in related field.
- Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Works well under pressure, challenges status quo.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to interact with all levels of management and clients.
