Roles & Responsibility
Provide full support to the operating system from its provisioning, configuring, managing, patching to its decommissioning.
• RHEL Upgradation from RHEL 6 to RHEL 7/8 and OS Migration from CentOS to Ubuntu.
• OS Patching on production environment, troubleshooting and providing RCA by ensuring permanent solution.
• OS hardening and vulnerability mitigation to ensure OS is secured.
• Work with Ansible Playbooks, ad-hoc commands for bulk deployment & configuration.
• Configure and resource management of PCS Cluster on RHEL virtual servers.
• Migrate resources and cluster disks on Veritas Cluster Servers (VCS) during planned activities.
• Implement concepts of LVM for better filesystem management/utility, increasing CPU/Memory, Swap and disks as part of performance tuning.
• Participate in DR-DC activities and managing OS responsibility.
• Implement & Test SuSE Manager for upgradation and patching of SLES servers.
• Troubleshoot and OS management for Ubuntu and SuSE Servers.
• Secure the network connection to services by tweaking OS firewall rules, managing SELinux.
• Implement with backup team (Commvault and NetBackup), database teams (Oracle, DB2, MySQL and PostgreSQL) and development teams to resolve their open issues.
Requirements:
Graduate with 4 years of relevant industry experience across a wide variety of IT projects.
• Atleast 5 years of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration / engineering experience with strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience in Infrastructure builds, Datacenter migration and project support
• Knowledge on Veritas/RHEL cluster, Block and object storage, Networking
• Understanding of Virtualization technologies
• Experience with Capacity management, Resiliency and Business Continuity Planning and execution
• Experience with Infrastructure automation - Puppet, Ansible
• Experience working on multiple service improvement programs and able to prioritize work loads
• Knowledge of DevOps, Work experience in SRE roles preferred
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and system security best practices
• Experience with multi-tiered application architecture
