The Shift Leader assumes a crucial role in the store team, tasked with the supervision of daily operations during the designated shift. The Shift Leader proficiently guides and supports team members, ensuring delivery of exceptional customer service experiences, while upholding store standards and optimizing operational efficiency.
- Team Leader role with focus on supervising, supporting, and delegating tasks during shifts. Maintain smooth workflows and efficient operations by providing guidance, training, and coaching to enhance employee performance.
- Support store manager to build positive employee experiences - from hiring to onboarding and training. Provide coaching and feedback on shift. Cultivate a positive work culture that builds teamwork and collaboration.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly and professionally handling customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback. Lead by example to create a positive and welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhere to company procedures for store opening/closing, coordinate employee shift schedules for optimal operations, monitor attendance, and promptly address performance issues on shift. Enforce company policies and standards during shifts.
- Provide operational support, aiding in store tasks like food preparation, service, and cashier duties. Oversee store cleanliness and stock organization at front-of-house and back-of-house areas. Maintain strict adherence to health, safety standards, and proper food handling protocols.
- Maintain rigorous quality control in food and beverage preparation, adhering to standard recipes and guidelines. Conduct regular store inspections to ensure compliance with company and local regulations.
- Motivate the team to upsell and promote special offers, maximizing sales during shifts. Monitor sales performance and assist the store manager in achieving revenue targets.
- Effective communication skills - Interact with store management, shift leaders, and team members to share updates and facilitate smooth handovers between shifts. Promptly report any issues, incidents, or employee performance concerns to the store management team.
Role Requirements
- At least 3 years’ work experience in the service industry with at least 1 year experience in a similar supervisory role
- Passion for F&B industry with proven experience in delivering excellent customer experiences
- Proven experience in leading, managing and coaching teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated abilities in multitasking and managing change in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to engage in shift work, which includes work on weekends and public holidays
