The Marketplace Buyer team maintains services that empower the core e-commerce business of Shopee. Its scope spans across buyer and seller facing features, covering the entire journey from account registration to order fulfillment. As one of the most critical pillars of the Shopee ecosystem, the Marketplace Buyer team owns systems that serve hundreds of millions of users across the globe and handle millions of transactions on a daily basis. Being built with modern architecture and in a distributed environment, these mission-critical services receive high traffic, require high performance, and deliver high impact to the business. As the owner of these services, we constantly work on solving interesting and challenging problems to deliver a better and smoother shopping experience to customers worldwide.
Job Description:
- Work closely with the product team to provide solutions to business problems
- Lead a team of engineers to deliver end-to-end product solutions
- Define cross-team, cross-tech-stack technical solutions and oversee the entire delivery lifecycle
- Build a healthy and sustainable team with team members' growth in mind
- Provide solutions to technical challenges on and beyond the team-level
- Set the technical directions for the team
- Define best practices and processes to boost efficiency and to enable innovation
- Maintain large scale production services supporting millions of users; continuously iterate while maintaining system stability and performance
- Drive the implementation of industry leading systems to empower business growth
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
- Having at least 7 years of experience building high performance systems
- Having at least 3 years of experience leading a sizeable team
- Strong programming skills in at least one language such as C/C++, Golang or Java
- Well balanced system design capabilities with both long-term and short-term goals in mind
- Deep understanding of software engineering concepts and processes
- Having a business-centric mindset and capable of empowering business goals through technology
- Strong communication skills and teamwork spirit
