Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operation and Maintenance Engineer with expertise in electrical and plumbing systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and plumbing systems within our facilities. This role demands a proactive and flexible individual who is willing to respond to emergencies at any time. Possession of a Class 3 or 2B driving license will be considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical and plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, plumbing fixtures, and related infrastructure.
- Replace or repair defective components and wiring
Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical and plumbing systems to identify potential issues.
- Test system functionality using specialized equipment to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Installation and Upgrades:
- Install new electrical and plumbing systems or components as required.
- Upgrade existing systems to improve efficiency and performance.
Emergency Response:
- Be on call to respond to emergency situations involving electrical and plumbing systems.
- Quickly assess and mitigate any immediate risks or hazards.
- Implement temporary fixes or bypass solutions to restore functionality as quickly as possible in emergency situations, ensuring safety and operational continuity.
- Follow up with permanent repairs once the immediate emergency has been managed.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare detailed reports on system performance and any incidents.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Implement and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Place orders for new materials as needed.
Driving and Mobility:
- Operate company vehicles for transportation to various job sites as required.
- Assist with the transport of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency with maintenance and testing tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree and/or Certification in electrical or plumbing fields.
- Experience with building automation systems.
- Knowledge of energy management and conservation practices.
- Possession of Class 3 or 2B driving licenses.
- Experience working in facilities management companies.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily based in a facility environment with exposure to various electrical and plumbing systems.
- May involve working in confined spaces or at heights.
- On-call availability for emergency situations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel to various job sites as required.
