Research Associate (Discovery Biology), EDDC

At EDDC, our goal is to discover and develop novel therapeutics by working collaboratively with public sector and industry partners. EDDC now has an opening and is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Associate in the Oncology Discovery team at EDDC. The successful candidate will participate and support inter-disciplinary and collaborative drug discovery projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the team working on the discovery of novel therapeutics and engaging in preclinical drug development from target exploration to drug candidate selection.

Principle Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and perform biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays including Western blotting, ELISA and flow cytometry for target validation and functional characterization of biologics and small molecules.
  • Perform molecular cloning, stable cell-line generation, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, siRNA/shRNA knockdown and qPCR.
  • Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.
  • Support laboratory housekeeping, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative and compliance-related processes.

Requirements:

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience is prefered
  • Proficient in designing and conducting experiments within the areas of cancer biology.
  • Experience in flow cytometry and immunoassays.
  • Experience in establishing high-throughput screening assays with the aim of identifying hits is a plus.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, deliver results within timelines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with meticulous record-keeping.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and collaborative spirit.
