At EDDC, our goal is to discover and develop novel therapeutics by working collaboratively with public sector and industry partners. EDDC now has an opening and is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Associate in the Oncology Discovery team at EDDC. The successful candidate will participate and support inter-disciplinary and collaborative drug discovery projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the team working on the discovery of novel therapeutics and engaging in preclinical drug development from target exploration to drug candidate selection.
Principle Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and perform biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays including Western blotting, ELISA and flow cytometry for target validation and functional characterization of biologics and small molecules.
- Perform molecular cloning, stable cell-line generation, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, siRNA/shRNA knockdown and qPCR.
- Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.
- Support laboratory housekeeping, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative and compliance-related processes.
Requirements:
- Degree or postgraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience is prefered
- Proficient in designing and conducting experiments within the areas of cancer biology.
- Experience in flow cytometry and immunoassays.
- Experience in establishing high-throughput screening assays with the aim of identifying hits is a plus.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, deliver results within timelines.
- Good written and oral communication skills, with meticulous record-keeping.
- Possess strong interpersonal and collaborative spirit.
