Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Human Capital and Development and/or her designate, the Learning & Development Manager shall act as a Business Partner within the Hotel to create and promote a learning culture and to work closely with the respective department educator to enhance associate competencies, growth and development. He/she is to source, conduct and evaluate learning and development programs, manage the department educator and conduct audit check on their internal department programs.
Job Description:
- To conduct and facilitate all training programs within the Hotel including New Associate Orientation Program for all new associates
- Assist the department educator to develop skills learning and development program within their department
- To develop and deliver Corporate mandatory programs within the Hotel
- To prepare and deliver the annual Learning and Development plan for all department and hotel as a whole
- To manage and monitor training budget for the Hotel
- To monitor the delivery, evaluation and suitability of in-house WSQ and non-WSQ training programs and make recommendations for improvement if necessary
- To ensure all learning and development records of each individual associate is established and maintained within the Hotel
- To develop and maintain hotel’s library books, audio and videotapes to support learning and development initiatives
- To access all Government Training Program funding and ensure the cost effectiveness of learning and development training activities in accordance with the training budget
- To ensure active implementation and adherence to corporate initiatives and policies, Corporate Branding and Brand Standards for the Hotel
- To work with department managers to develop and/or update the Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency
- To assist, support and review the Hotel’s competency framework
- To assist with the development of each individual Associate’s career path and succession planning by facilitating their development program
- To work with external training providers to develop suitable courses for our associates
- To monitor present and future trends and best practices for learning and development and make recommendations for the Hotel
- To implement and review Pan Pacific Hotels Group learning and development policies, service standards etc.
- To work cohesively with schools to ensure student work-experience placements, internship and management trainees receive quality education and training in accordance with Pan Pacific Hotels Group Standards
- To maintain WDA ATO status and ensure that all training document is kept based on WDA requirement
- To ensure timely submission of claims (SDF and SRP) to WDA via SkillsConnect
- To track and monitor WSQ and department trainings conducted and upload assessment results timely through WDA or SkillsConnect for issuance and printing of Statement of Attainment for all successful assessments
- To track training funding and grants as approved by WDA or any government agencies
- To organize the monthly L&D meeting within the Hotel
- To be in constant communication with department educator and/or designated trainer to keep abreast of training quality and delivery
- To prepare and submit the monthly training expense report and individual training hours for each individual Associate within the Hotel
Job requirements:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in facilitation and delivery of learning & development activities within the Hospitality industry
- Bachelor’s degree with ACTA / ACLP / DDDLP certified preferred
- Effective communicator with the eye for details
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and a team player
