Field Application Engineer (Semiconductor)
As a Field Application Engineer, he/she should be one of the key players in technical support team providing excellent pre and post sales technical support to regional customers for their projects and to internal sales team in their inquiries
Responsibilities
- Represent the company as the technical person to internal & external customers and partners in the assigned geographical region
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and internal sales team, handling customer NDA and sample request
- Collect customers’ feedback and provide recommendation to customer for design requirements, product enhancements and capture new product opportunities
- Responsible for identifying and clarifying any technical issues related to new or existing products, and clearly communicate findings to the respective business unit
- Manage the certificate of Chip, OS and HW to overcome customer issues and project follow ups Prepare presentation for training, prepare applications notes and technical papers for customers, manage distributors technical support
- Support the mass production of the best products and product sales by discussing the technology and specifications of the new product with the client and participating in the development of a customized product
- Provides insights and gaps from the field back to marketing and development team for future product planning and implementation
Requirement
- Degree in Engineering (Electronics) or equivalent
- 5 years of technical customer support experience in semiconductor industry
- Field experience or hands-on practice or knowledge of multi-disciplinary system design and development (systems such as electrical, electronics, computerized, mechanical and / or combination of these)
- Should have knowledge of Smart Card, RFID and microcontroller products; knowledge of physical access control and the security industry is desirable
- Experience with or knowledge of one or more of: CCD, CMOS image sensors, image capture, video standards, image processing
- Strong analytic skills with the ability to understand client needs, and then collaborate with them to deliver solutions that provide lasting value
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Based in Singapore but able to travel when required for customer visits and onsite supports
- Manage distributors technical support/FAE members to overcome customer issues and project follow ups
