About the Role
You will be reporting to the Group Head of Compliance and Operational Risk Management.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Head of Compliance to formulate and implement AML monitoring policy, to comply with applicable business model and related monitoring requirements.
- Monitor legislation, regulatory circulars and enforcement actions from Regulators and work with Head of Compliance to ensure any updates are appropriately incorporated into internal policies and procedures when required.
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance contro and maintain the regulatory obligation register.
- Develop, review and evaluate Company policies and procedures and report to identify hidden risks or common issues (gap analysis) and provide recommendation.
- Secretary of Monthly Compliance Committee meeting, ensuring that the meeting materials are prepared, draft the minutes and circulate the meeting materials nad minutes to committee members.
- Responsible for maintaining all relevant policies and procedures, track to ensure that all policies and procedures are updated.
- Reponsible for preparing AML training materials and conducting training.
- Review high-risk customer due diligence cases and escalate to senior management
- Coordinate with relevant parties on appeal cases.
- Advise on name screening hits and exceptional handling request.
- Provide advice to various stakeholders on AML related and internal policy queries.
- Help with identifying any AML/CTF loopholes and establish procedures to bridge those gaps (including raising enhancement request to Compliance Transformation team and following up on the status)
- Guide and lead the advisory team (comprising 2 staff)
- Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited University
- Preferably from Banking/Financial Industry.
- 3 plus years work experience in a compliance function
- Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Meticulous, proactive and good interpersonal skills
- Effective leader and team player, self-starter
- Relevant experience in payments or financial services
- Deep understanding of retail/ commercial financial products/ services, payments industry, etc.
- Understanding of AML and Compliance regulations within the payment/ banking/ financial services industry
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
- Adaptable to dynamic environment
