The Global Commodity Manager is a strategic procurement leader responsible for managing the sourcing, procurement, and supply chain activities related to specific commodities, leveraging your specialized technical and commercial knowledge of the technology, suppliers and market trends of the assigned commodity.
This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive commodity sourcing strategies, negotiating prices & contracts, while fostering strong relationships with suppliers & reviewing performances to ensure the availability, quality of products and at optical total cost of ownership to meet Jabil’s supply chain management and business goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate expertise in assigned commodities and competency in all aspects of the commodity’s supply chain management deliverables
Develop the supply base to meet Jabil’s business and supply chain goals and objectives
Negotiate supplier contracts
Negotiate pricing and other business terms and conditions
Serve as a point of escalation to leverage executive level supplier relationships in resolving complex commercial and supply chain issues
Conducting business reviews with suppliers to manage performance in cost, quality, delivery, and technology alignment. Propose and implement supply chain improvements.
Analyze market conditions and implement supply chain strategies to assure supply and price competitiveness
Research, prepare and publish market intelligence reports, alerts and trends
Ensure the supply base adheres to Jabil standards of Corporate Social Responsibilities including but not limited to Environmental, Ethical, Legislative, and Regulatory requirements
Market Jabil’s Supply Chain Management expertise both internally and externally
Set and measure annual commodity strategy deliverables to ensure global supply chain fiscal metric targets are met
Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.
“Get down in the trenches” to rehabilitate troubled plants. Foster a “back to basics” mentality during these times. Lead by example; “Walk the talk.”
Ensure the efficient and timely exchange of knowledge and information within the Jabil Corporation to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Management or equivalent experience.
7 years of experience managing Semiconductor commodities and Suppliers
Experience in semiconductor manufacturing flow and supply chain management.
Experience managing and negotiating pricing and contracts
Strong communication and leadership skills to assume a knowledge-leader role with cross-functional peers (e.g., Design Engineering, Business, Purchasing) and Customers.
Effective presentation and relationship building skills to influence Customers, Suppliers & Jabil internal stakeholders
Advanced Excel Skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
In-depth technical and commercial knowledge of Opto-Electronics and Sensors components and suppliers with over 10 years of experience in the Semiconductor component industry
Established knowledge and relationship with Discrete Semiconductor component suppliers
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Effective negotiation skills
Effective problem solver confident in addressing and resolving ambiguous and complex business problems
Ability to effectively present information and respond to Executive level questions from Suppliers, Customers, Jabil’s internal stakeholders and the general public
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Basic finance (understand and evaluate a Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow statement)
