Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Food Technologist to join our Research & Development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science and technology, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. This role involves developing new healthier food products, improving existing formulations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development:
- Develop new food products from concept to commercialization.
- Reformulate existing products to enhance quality, taste, and nutritional value.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and product testing to ensure consumer acceptance.
- Research & Innovation:
- Investigate new ingredients, technologies, and processing methods to create innovative food solutions.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams including marketing, production, and quality assurance.
- Assist in troubleshooting production issues and optimizing manufacturing processes.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all products meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including formulation records, ingredient specifications, and process guidelines.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple R&D projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with company objectives.
- Communicate project progress and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with suppliers to source and evaluate new ingredients.
- Collaborate with external research organizations and universities on joint research projects.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related fields.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in food product development (preferably in healthier food ingredients or sweet confectioneries) or a similar role in the food industry.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and infographics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis.
