Project Officer (Psychology/Counselling/Social Work/Health Science)

The School of Social Sciences is inviting applications for the position of Project Officer. The Project Officer (PO) will join an expanding team to work on projects in the field of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Chronic Disease Management. The PO will be working in the research lab “Action Research for Community Health (ARCH)”, and the primary study involves an intervention study that develops and test the efficacy of an integrative health coaching programme to support first-time stroke survivors and their family caregivers. The PO is expected to work closely with professionals in the field of medicine and rehabilitation sciences, as well as with clinical population groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and implement research projects, in collaboration with principal investigators.
  • Liaise with community collaborators
  • Literature review
  • Support data collection and research implementation
  • Perform data transcription and data analysis
  • Compile findings and draft research reports, as well as co-author academic journal publications with project principal investigators.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Health Science or related fields from a reputable university (Soon to graduate students of the 2024 cohort are encouraged to apply)
  • Must be fluent in Spoken and Written English and Mandarin/Malay because the faculty’s mixed methods research involves many Mandarin/Malay speaking older adults that need to be liaised with for the project, this requires not only verbal communication but also written communications skills as well due to transcription and translation work.
  • Demonstrate excellent inter-personal communication skills
  • Experience in quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods and intervention research
  • Competent in MS Office, NVivo, SPSS and Qualtrics
  • A team player with the ability to work independently in a multi-cultural environment
