Job Description
1. Bridging the Gap Between Educators and AI
- Champion AI in Education: Lead the charge in crafting engaging outreach programs and workshops showcasing the potential of AI in teaching and learning. These programs bridge the gap for the NUS community, educating educators on this innovative technology.
- Documenting Impact: Spearhead research efforts, documenting compelling use cases for AI in education. This knowledge base not only educates the NUS community but also lays the groundwork for future development
- Synthesising Insights: In collaboration with AICET’s international collaborators, I will build upon their research on AI in Education in other countries and generate ideas and directions for the Singapore context.
- Scaling Innovation: Expanding the reach of existing programs, bringing the benefits of AI from NUS faculty to educators across Singapore. Refine pedagogical objectives, curate engaging content, and develop activities for a truly impactful learning experience.
- Empowering Educators with AI Tools: - Collaborative Frameworks: Develop practical frameworks, in partnership with Jonathan, to guide educators in adopting AI tools confidently. Work with educators to identify learning objectives, assess feasibility, understand their needs, and coordinate with the relevant parties to address those needs
2. Experimental Development: Product Management, User Research, Documentation
- User-Driven Solutions: Delve into user research, crafting surveys and facilitating focus groups to pinpoint specific educator pain points.
- Explore innovative approaches like AI-powered hackathons to crowdsource these challenges to identify the most promising concepts for further development, and to identify educators who might be willing to explore these ideas with us.
- Product Management: Translate user insights and pedagogical objectives into clear product visions and roadmaps.
- Oversee the entire product development process, from initial ideation and user research to launch and ongoing optimization through iterative development cycles.
- Ensure clear and comprehensive documentation is created alongside these tools, empowering educators with a seamless integration process.
3. Mentorship of Interns & Research Assistants: Fostering a Collaborative Environment
- Mentoring Potential: Play a pivotal role as a bridge between educators and SoC student developers.
- Ensure the students understand educators’ challenges and needs, allowing them to develop targeted prototypes that truly address the real learning needs.
- Provide support to resolve any workflow difficulties that may arise during the development process
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree with Honours in a relevant area; and
- Experience in research.
