KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Principal is responsible for all academic matters and the delivery of high-quality education, parent engagement as well as the daily safe and smooth operations of the school.
- Lead the school with a clear, compelling vision for the School, aligned to organisation value
- Create and maintain a safe, conducive and creative school learning environment that enables all students to fulfil their potential
- Ensure efficient operational school processes, utilising resources optimally
- Set an excellent standard for teaching and learning as a curriculum leader, advocate innovative approaches to teaching and curriculum opportunities
- Instil a strong sense of accountability in staff for the impact of their work on student learning
- Assess, monitor and evaluate teaching standards across the curriculum in order to continuously improve practice
- Recruit, develop and retain talents to ensure school continues to deliver excellent teaching and learning at all levels
- Build a culture of learning amongst staff, ensuring continuous learning and improvement for personal and professional growth
- Participate in the School’s financial planning and management process to meet the annual business targets set by the Board
- Ensure appropriate and effective two-way communication between staff, students, parents, the school’s management and the school Board
- Forge strategic partnerships with stakeholders, including parents, vendors and community partners, and maintain a positive relationship to achieve organisation outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree and postgraduate study in education
- Skilled communicator
- A track record of successful leadership and/or management as a principal or vice principal or equivalent of a school, together with some international experience
- Evidence of successfully leading innovation which has resulted in improved student outcomes.
- Experience of successfully leading change, including managing a number of simultaneous projects, whilst ensuring the engagement and support of students, parents, colleagues, Board and the wider community.
- Educational experience that illustrates a commitment to academic progress and to the welfare and safeguarding of students.
- A firm grasp of financial planning and management and business processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of recent educational developments
- A personable, outgoing and cheerful leader, capable of cultivating strong relationships to support the development and growth of school
- Ambitious, resilient, hard-working, motivated and a strong positive role model
- Cross-cultural competence
- Ability to be flexible, to assimilate new information quickly in a new environment and cope with ambiguity.
