Job Description
Job Purpose
- Contract, Insurance & Claims management of a fleet of LNG vessels.
- Ensure effective communication and co-ordination with Charterers, Insurers, respective vessels, shareholders, technical managers, and internal support teams (Cash Management //HQ etc.)
- Ensure safe and reliable transportation of energy products and maximize owner profits.
Role and Responsibilities:
Operational Responsibilities (Do)
- Support Manager in the commercial administration of LNGC projects.
- Undertake Management of Insurances and Claims of all LNGC projects
- Support Manager in administration of Project Budgets with the Ship Managers
- Develop relationships with different Insurance Underwriters and P&I clubs.
- Provide Insurance related Input for Contractual compliance matters.
- Keep complete track of Insurance cover for assigned vessels and ensure timely renewal.
- Ensure rightful claims are raised and recovered. Keep completed track record for all claims associated with the assigned vessels and follow-up with the insurance providers.
- Liaise with Finance team to ensure appropriate provisions are allocated to financial statements.
- Update Senior Leadership, Directors and Shareholders with manager supervision and guidance on the Insurance / claims /Settlement matters.
- Provide support for Internal Approval process and interact/liaise with Technical and Commercial Teams overseas.
Performance Monitoring Responsibilities (Check)
- Ensure assigned LNGC’s are covered with the statutory insurances and ensure all claims are fully accounted for with the Insurance companies.
- Compliance with Charter Party requirements and gauge performance of assigned assets as per TCP warranties
- Ensure assigned projects are built as per SBC and in compliance with latest statutory regulations.
- Liaise with Charterers/Customers and drive cost benefits for Owners.
- Liaise with Ship Managers and drive value optimization by driving OPEX efficiencies.
- Takes an overview of Operational performance and provides mentoring and coaching as required to the team
Responsibilities for Driving Improvement (Act)
- Coordinates Ship Managers on Technical and Operational Matters including OPEX Budget approval process.
- Provides advice to Ship managers on Insurance and Commercial matters about charterer requirements.
- Attend industry meetings, trainings, seminars and conferences.
- Ensure effective management of the special purpose companies contained within the joint venture project
- Ensure effective communications with all stakeholders.

Prepare and organize
- Ensure Monthly KPI scorecards are sent to Charterers / Owners as required.
- Prepare and maintain tracker for all on-going insurance claims with Underwriters.
- Review monthly OPEX reports with Finance and prepare analysis for the variations noted in the OPEX budget for shareholders brief.
- Prepare monthly/Quarterly Management reports + Shareholders meeting materials for Owners and Shareholders as required
Owner representative
- Represent Owners during crisis management situations
- Represent company and JVs at owner, charterer and Industry event
Job Requirement
Senior Maritime / shipping Qualification, or Degree in Project / business management with Operations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Maritime // Shipping focus degree
- Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers
Knowledge and Experience:
- A good working knowledge of Oil & Gas shipping commercial operations
- Familiarity with time charter/ shipbuilding contractual terms and associated commercial agreements.
- Ability to report complex commercial matters in simple terms.
- Good cultural awareness with the ability to engage with various stakeholders worldwide
- Good understanding of LNG/ Gas market gained at another owner and / or energy company.
- Ex-Mariner with LNG Tanker experience
- Claims handling (Insurance, charter-party disputes etc.)
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication skills
- Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks // projects by oneself.
- Commercially astute with a sharp eye for detail
- Numerically astute and comfortable reporting large numbers to management (USD$ millions)
- Capable to report complex commercial matters in a few salient points and provide resolution(s) to manager
- Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Stakeholder engagement
- Strong data analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills
