Responsibility
- Deliver and exceed VEC sales and margin expectations along with OTD (On Time Delivery) performance targets.
- Maximise freight recovery.
- Maximise freight inwards charges.
- Generate new project business in collaboration with MRC Global General Manager Sales / Valve & Automation, National VEC Manager, Sales Representatives, Key Account Manager and Regional Sales Managers.
- Up sell at every opportunity, valves “Do you want fries with that?”
- All sales opportunities recorded in SAP and monitored using Open Quote System / MRC Global Tender Management System.
- Maximise margin on orders through negotiation with suppliers and stockists.
- Participate in profitability reviews of each customer to enable maximum return on quotations.
- Complete Tender Contract Approval Form (TCAF) and Supplier Risk Assessment (SRA) where applicable.
- Participate in implementing strategies for margin enhancement for non-profitable customers.
- Participates in a quarterly review of quotes with MRC Global General Manager Sales / Valve & Automation, National VEC Manager, Sales Representatives, Key Account Manager and Sales Managers.
- Take ownership of allocated inquiry base.
- Record all quotes in SAP / MRC Global Tender Management System.
Requirements
- Diploma in Engineering (Metallurgical or Mechanical) or similar.
- Minimum 3 years of sales support / customer service with quotation and order processing experience.
- Knowlede on Valve an added advantage.
- Knowlede on SAP preferred.
- Fast learner and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
