Director - Technology Innovation

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic technology leadership and vision for Member Firm's throughout the ASPAC region – informing technology roadmaps at the local, regional and global levels. Ensure seamless and efficient operations at all levels.
  • Provide technical leadership and set the strategic direction for the regional tax technology team, fostering an environment of innovation and continuous improvement. Ensure effective collaboration with local and regional teams.
  • Engage with executive stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives and translate these into high-level technical requirements, ensuring technology solutions deliver significant business value and competitive advantage.
  • Manage and prioritize the technology project portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in tax technology and software engineering, identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies to improve operations. Understand and communicate the importance of AI and effectively communicate its impact on the Tax practice and the Tax professional of the future.
  • Act as a hands-on leader, directly contributing to the development and implementation of tax technology solutions when necessary.

Key Accountabilities

25% - Integration of Global tax technology platforms

30% - Building out new local and Global technology solutions

25% - Building and developing the team in Singapore

10% - Working with client technology and KPMG client implementation teams to on-board clients

10% - Managing and assuring all Technology Risk Review processes are followed and complied with


Skills and experience

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in software engineering, cloud architectures, systems integration, and data management with a significant portion in leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced technical skills, encompassing a broad range of software development methodologies, frameworks, and tools, with a strong focus on emerging technologies and innovation.
  • Proven strategic leadership capabilities, with a distinguished track record of managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing technical teams in complex, dynamic environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Deep understanding of emerging trends in tax technology and software engineering, with a demonstrated ability to leverage these advancements to drive organizational growth and efficiency.
