DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As customers enter the salon, greets them, provides them with a warm welcome, takes their questions, and makes them feel at ease as they wait to be seen
- Provides the best first impression to walk-in enquiries
- Ensures good customer traffic from the reception area to the salon’s service areas
- Coordinates with the appropriate hair stylist or beautician who can provide the right consultation and advice
- Books appointments with hair stylists and beautician
- Calls on other members of the salon to attend to visitors who request for the former’s presence
- While customers wait for their turn, offers them coffee, water, or other beverages available for waiting customers
- Answers the phone and takes messages from customers, as well as makes reservations for them
- If customers ask for opinion, provides basic information about various hair care services and products and if needed provides the customers with initial helpful suggestions prior to consultation with the salon’s hair stylists and beauticians
- Crafts and sends out reminder messages to salon customers via handphone texts and emails, to prompt them of their appointments and books in case they forget
- Keeps track of customer payments and billings for services done in the salon
- Updates client records with customer particulars like contact details, appointments, and service transactions
- Inform customers of new salon services, products, and new sales promotions
- Maintains a clean and highly presentable reception area
- Order business cards, brochures, and other reception area stationery as needed
- Ensures that brochures and other customer forms are updated and made available to support clients’ needs
- Takes on any other assigned ad-hoc duties as the business requires
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Vocational or diploma in Business, Commerce or relevant fields
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a similar capacity in a salon and any service-oriented organisation
- High level of phone etiquette and overall professionalism
- Excellent with people engagement
- Computer literate and hands-on experience with administrative and front-desk equipment such printers and point-of-sale system (POS)
- Good verbal and written, albeit email, communication skills
- Excellent office management and record-keeping skills
- Jovial disposition and positive attitude
