Helicap is looking for a hands-on Head of Engineering to manage our revenue-generating Fintech platform (Big Data Credit Analytics and Investments) and technology operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the development and maintenance of cloud-native platforms, overseeing the end-to-end software development lifecycle, with a close eye on technical architecture, code maturity, performance, resilience, scale, and security
- Oversee technology risk management and cyber hygiene practices
- Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning
- Establish and maintain engineering best practices, standards, and methodologies to optimize team performance and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business, Product, Design, etc) to define project scopes, requirements, and timelines, ensuring alignment with company goals and priorities
- Participate in recruitment efforts to expand and strengthen the engineering team
Key Requirements:
- 7+ years of solid, hands-on experience in architecting, building, and maintaining complex scalable platforms
- Prior experience in building cloud-native platforms from the ground up
- Very strong statistical analysis and problem-solving skills (candidate would be managing a complex credit analytics platform)
- Demonstrated success in project management, delivering complex technical projects within scope, on time, and within budget
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Preferably a prior experience with the following tech stack and infra:
- Golang, ReactJS, MongoDB/PostgreSQL
- Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native data-lake & big data architecture
- Terraform, AWS/GCP
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, managing multiple priorities effectively
Bonus Points:
- Prior experience of working with Fintech or other Tech start-ups
- Prior experience of working with cloud-native Big Data Analytics platforms
- Good understanding of DevOps, cyber security and technology risk management practises
- Good understanding of Finance domain
