RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Development
- Drive the product development projects for the next generation PV modules. Understand PV industry testing requirement and design FMEA.
Energy Yield Monitoring
- Manage the energy yield monitoring activities for existing and new sites. Lead discussion to understand the PV modules performance and propose the improvement enablers based on the monitoring outcomes.
Energy Yield Modeling
- Able to apply the PV energy yield simulation software for comparing the simulated performance with the actual field data to draw links and highlight the technical advantages of the products.
Others
- Assist R&D and process, manufacturing teams with technical analyses, troubleshooting and improvement projects.
- Plan, coordinate and be ready to work hands-on in the labs to conduct experiments and build test modules.
- Some travelling to conferences, seminars, and research institutes is to be expected.
- MSc / Ph.D. in Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience in product development / field installation / system-level research.
- Working experience in Solar/Semiconductors/Electronics manufacturing industries is an advantage.
- Expertise in PV modules energy yield simulation (PVSyst is a must).
- Field experiences in system design and installation.
- Knowledge and experience in PV modules characterization and analysis.
- Knowledge and experience in PV module Certification procedure.
- Possess excellent project management skills.
- SolidWorks /Autocad drawing capability.
- Ability to co-operate with different professionals (operations, equipment suppliers, research institutes, supply chain).
- Good communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
- Self-driven, proactive, structured and analytical team player.
Additional Advantageous Skills
- Hands on experience in system design and installation: Familiar with PV site installation, system sizing and understanding of actual field condition and constraints.
- Product Reliability Test Design: Familiar with PV industry IEC testing - e.g. Damp-heat, Thermal Cycling, Humidity Freeze, Light/Potential induced degradation, thermal shock.
- Failure Analysis: Leading FA from technical point of view. In-depth understanding of module process structure characteristic relations and the degradation mechanism in actual application
