Job Description (but not limited to):
- Perform activities mainly relevant to plan review of newbuilding and existing ships & offshore mechanical and piping systems, equipment, facilities, etc. in accordance with IMO, IACS and Classification regulation and rules, and provide technical reports or plan review comments if any
- Perform design verification calculations for ship and offshore machinery equipment and systems using relevant software as required
- Provide technical support and training services to external customers and site Surveyors
- Respond to customer enquiries and provide solutions in a timely manner
- Participate in internal and external machinery piping technical seminars and make relevant technical reports
- Some travel may be expected depending on job requirements
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors and managers
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in mechanical engineering or other related disciplines
- Registered ship inspector certificate of the People's Republic of China required
- At least 5 years' experience in the design or review of ship mechanical and piping systems, or technical work experience in a related technical field
- Familiar with the theoretical knowledge of mechanical, as well as the requirements of Classification Rules, Flag Authorities Regulations and International Conventions
- Proficiency in oral and written Chinese/English for technical communication
- Experience in mechanical and piping review of other classification societies would be preferred
